The TRIAD Steering Committee consists of representatives from each of the six Translational Research Centers (TRCs), including physicians, scientists, researchers, and administrative personnel. The committee members include Principal Investigators, Co-Principal Investigators (some sites have both), Projector Coordinators and Co-Investigators.
Additional committee representatives are from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and Veterans Health Administration's TRIAD-VA.
The Steering Committee has the overall responsibility for the strategic planning of the project. The committee makes important decisions regarding the operation, performance and progress of the study. Decisions are made through a formal voting process. Each TRC is allowed one vote, which is cast by the Principal Investigator of the TRC.
