TRIAD is a national, multi-center longitudinal study that provides useful information about effective treatments and better care for people with diabetes in managed care settings. TRIAD was launched in 1998-2009, and funded by the Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). TRIAD is currently in a "legacy" period (2010-2013) to allow investigators to finish exploring hypotheses and research questions using the unique datasets from the original study.
